Rehabilitation (often called ‘physiotherapy’) is especially important for patients who have had surgery, for instance orthopaedic or neurological surgery, and for patients with injuries, both of orthopaedic and soft tissue origin. It can also be offered to sports and performance dogs, working dogs, police dogs and more.
Patients may be offered some or all of the following techniques:
- Manual techniques, such as massage and joint manipulations
- Laser treatment, also called photo-biomodulation
- Therapeutic ultrasound
- TENS/NMES treatment
- Pain management
- Osteo-arthritis management
- Western acupuncture
- Western herbal treatment
Rehabilitation treatments are offered by two or our veterinary surgeons, Dr. Pete van Dongen and Dr. Rimante Butkute and can be booked through our reception team, as normal.
We also offer laser treatment as an optional extra after routine surgery, such as spays and castrations. Laser treatment will help the wound to heal better and faster, and is quick, safe and pain free!
Do please ask at reception, or phone for further details.
